“Kayla Neville is a young woman who is poised to become a leader of her generation. As a senior at De La Salle High School she is working to create awareness around stopping the violence on the streets of New Orleans; something is plaguing our community and threatens the future hopes and dreams of many young people. “I wanted to work to help others, especially teens like myself from different backgrounds. I realize some do not have access to the same opportunities I’ve had, so I am working to make a difference in the lives of others.” Continuing she says on the origins of her giving spirit she says, “I come from a family of volunteers and I was always taught that it is better to give than to receive, so that is what I am trying to do.”
