Dear Cavalier Parents,
It is my pleasure to serve as your Parents Club President this year. I am writing this letter to ask you to support the Annual Giving Drive and to share some of my reflections about De La Salle. I am grateful for having the opportunity to send my two sons (Dwayne 13 and Devin 16) to De La Salle. Since my sons started at De La Salle, I have witnessed incredible progress at the school.
While many other schools enrollments are declining, De La Salles enrollment has increased over the last four years. So, it is not surprising that there is a great deal of excitement about De La Salle both inside and outside of our school. Everywhere I go, I hear positive comments about De La Salle.
Academically, over the last five years I have seen increases in areas such as the number of students taking Advanced Placement (AP) classes, ACT scores, the number of students eligible for TOPS, and the total money awarded to seniors for college scholarships. De La Salle is once again at the forefront of cutting-edge education in New Orleans.
Additionally, during my time as a parent at De La Salle, there have also been many improvements to the school facility. Great emphasis has been placed on refurbishing and modernizing the school buildings. The latest examples include creating the Classrooms of the Future, replacing the air-conditioning system in the main building, and creating an outdoor space to serve food for student and parent events.
These improvements have provided the framework for students who love De La Salle because for them it is a home away from home. Their fellow students are like brothers and sisters, and the school is small enough for faculty and staff to get to know all the students personally. It is truly a family atmosphere where students receive individual attention.
I am asking for your help to keep our schools momentum continuing in the right direction. Join with me, the Parents Club and the other parents who have contributed to the Annual Giving Drive, and return your pledge card today. When you return your pledge card, be as generous as possible as a “thank you” to De La Salle for the present and future support of your child. In addition, think of your gift as a down payment on assisting future Cavaliers so that they can have the same educational and religious opportunities that our children have. Thank you in advance for investing in De La Salle and helping us to reach our goal of 100% parent participation.
