NEW ORLEANS – A pair of late-season district boys basketball matchups will air on WHNO TV 20 and SportsNOLA.com this month as part of the First NBC Bank Prep Showcase.
The schedule begins this week with Tuesday night’s District 11-3A showdown between De La Salle and John Curtis in River Ridge. The first time the teams met this year, the Patriots won 94-93 in overtime on three free throws with no time left.
Next Thursday, February 19, the District 9-5A schedule closes out with a Gentilly rivalry between Brother Martin and Holy Cross from the Tigers’ gymnasium. Last year on WHNO and SportsNOLA, Holy Cross closed out the regular season with a dramatic triple overtime victory over Archbishop Rummel.
Both games will air live on SportsNOLA.com and air on a tape delayed basis at 4:30 p.m. the following day on WHNO.
Since its inception in the spring of 2012, the First NBC Bank Prep Showcase on WHNO and SportsNOLA has presented more than 50 high school sporting events. March and April events will be announced at a later date.
