Cavaliers End the Football Season With Playoff Loss to Farmerville | Written by: Greg Jacob ’13

The Cavalier Football season came to an end when the Farmerville Farmers defeated the Cavaliers 29-7 on the road.

The Cavaliers had a rough night on all three phases of the game. On special teams, the Cavaliers missed an onside kick and they allowed a punt to be blocked. On defense, the Cavaliers had a hard time stopping the Farmers, giving up three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown. On offense, the offensive line had a hard time stopping Farmers’ pass rush, and the Cavalier wide receivers dropped several passes.

However, the Cavaliers were resilient and Anthony Thomas scored a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Then on Special teams, Peyton Giacone kicked an onside kick that was recovered by the Cavaliers. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough and the Cavaliers still fell short.

A memorable moment was at the end of the game when every Cavalier fan went onto the field and gave every player a hug. The Cavaliers finished the season with a 6-4 overall record including playoffs; and 3-1 in district.
